Dancing Arts Academy

If your child succeeds with consistency and in a small, individualized setting, the Dancing Arts Academy could be for him / her. If your child can't schedule enough dance into his / her life, or if your afternoons are filled with too much to do, I hope you will consider The Dancing Arts Academy for him / her. If he / she is considering a career in dance, or if you are looking for a better social and academic environment, I believe the Dancing Arts Academy could be for your child's new school. Up to 25 students will be accepted each year. The Dancing Arts Academy (DAA), teachers and administrators, hope to include your child as part of the DAA family.

The Dancing Arts Academy is a day school for promising dance students between grades four through twelve with accredited curricula such as the Oak Meadow, Calvert School, Apex, Touchstone, University of Nebraska, University of Missouri, and others. Parents (prospective and current) who are interested in more information or placement are invited to an overview, and question and answer session on January 15th from 6:30-8:30 in studio A. For further discussion, schedule an interview before the first of April. An audition is not necessary for DAC students. Incoming students audition in a four week DAC summer workshop.

The Calvert School’s specialty is providing an excellent day school education for boys and girls fourth through the eighth grade. Apex, Touchstone, University of Missouri, and University of Nebraska is for high school level of study. Oak Meadow is for 4-12th grade. All programs provide distance learning opportunities of similar quality to English speaking children around the world whom are in non-traditional settings, such as privately tutored child artists or groups such as those at the Dancing Arts Academy. Like Oak Meadow, Apex, Touchstone, University of Missouri, and University of Nebraska, the Calvert School is internationally recognized as an independent school and fully approved by the State Departments of Education and provide accredited transcripts.. All applicants must take a placement test for entrance and advancement. These schools are a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the Association of Independent Schools (AIMS), and the Educational Records Bureau (ERB). They are incorporated as a nonprofit institutions.

The Dancing Arts Academy provides a rare opportunity for students to cultivate their serious interest in classical ballet and contemporary dance while pursuing academic excellence. While all applicants must take an academic placement test and submit a recommendation from a community leader, only non-DAC applicants are required to audition. Notification of acceptance follows in May. A maximum of 25 applicants are accepted.

Yours in Education,
Karyn Edison, Director
