WHY THE DANCING ARTS CENTER?

Students with or without professional aspirations value DAC's unique programs. Students gain greater respect and knowledge of themselves and the art form of dance through the mental discipline and physical demands inherent in a serious approach to dance.

The professional atmosphere at DAC keeps the focus of the programs where it should be - on the students, not on ribbons, trophies, recitals, razzle - dazzle, etc. Students of all sizes, shapes and ages enjoy the respect and individualized attention afforded to every member at DAC. Their self esteem increases through inner awareness and growth, not superficial rewards and glitz. Parents appreciate the small class sizes and expertise of the faculty. Everyone's wallet stays a little fuller, too. There are no unexpected expenses once a student is enrolled. Tuition is based on a sliding scale - the more classes a student takes, the less it costs per hour!

At DAC, dance is presented as a moving art form involving athleticism, creativity, spirituality, and intelligence. Students at DAC have a wide range of classes and levels available to them at one centralized location: Creative Movement for 3 - 7 year olds, Pre-ballet for 6 - 9 years olds, Classical Ballet and Modern Dance for 8 years and older, Jazz Dance for 12 years and older. Naturally, students are grouped according to age and skill. Master classes and special classes in Character, Pas De Deux, Variation, Tap, Flamenco and others are often available.

Class is not just class at DAC. Dance history comes alive; Music theory intertwines with performance; Dance improvisation and composition naturally flow from shared ideas and patterns; Pantomime and drama compliment movement with props and imagination; Good nutrition is the example from the oldest to the youngest; Anatomical, physiological and kinetic terms are the spoken language. Class is exciting and fun at DAC!
